The Penn State Smeal College of Business has announced the appointment of Jordan S. Claffey to its Institute for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board Executive Committee. Mr. Claffey is executive vice president and head of retail at RFR Realty LLC.

“We are pleased to welcome Jordan to the executive committee of the board,” said Brent Ambrose, Smeal Professor of Real Estate and director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies. “We are confident his expertise in the dynamic field of retail real estate operations will be highly complementary to our executive committee’s exceptional real estate and business experience.”

Mr. Claffey graduated from Penn State in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in real estate before pursuing an MBA in strategic management from Temple University in 2011. He is currently studying at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.

“I am honored to join the Advisory Board Executive Committee and look forward to contributing to the institute’s mission to connect real estate business professionals and provide a focal point for real estate education at Penn State’s prestigious program,” Mr. Claffey said.

As head of RFR Retail, his responsibilities include overseeing lease negotiations, marketing initiatives and business development, and supporting ongoing expansion of the firm’s iconic portfolio of retail properties by identifying and valuing potential acquisitions. Prior to joining RFR, he served as vice president of leasing at Thor Equities in New York, and regional vice president of leasing at Brixmor Property Group in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
