Penn State Smeal faculty members earn promotions

Three members of the Penn State Smeal College of Business faculty, which ranks among the best in the world in research productivity, have received promotions that will take effect on July 1. 

Vilmos F. Misangyi has been promoted to professor of management and organization. Misangyi joined the Smeal faculty in 2008. His research takes a social and behavioral approach to examining how executive and organizational actions influence, and are influenced by, their surrounding environments. He earned a Ph.D. in management from the University of Florida. 

Peter G. Iliev has been promoted to associate professor of finance. Iliev, who has been a member of the Smeal faculty since 2008, studies corporate finance, corporate governance, and financial regulation and disclosure. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Brown University. 

Jiro Yoshida has been promoted to associate professor of business. Yoshida, who has been a member of the faculty since 2009 and is a fellow of the Institute for Real Estate Studies, studies real estate economics, asset pricing, investments, and macroeconomics. He earned a Ph.D. in finance and real estate from the University of California Berkeley.
