Smeal College of Business Names Jennifer Eury to New Position of Honor and Integrity Director

The Penn State Smeal College of Business has named Jennifer Eury to the newly created position of Director of Honor and Integrity. In this new role, Eury will lead the development and implementation of the college’s honor and integrity efforts.

The Penn State Smeal College of Business has named Jennifer Eury to the newly created position of Director of Honor and Integrity. In this new role, Eury will lead the development and implementation of the college’s honor and integrity efforts.

“Honor and integrity are critical to our mission as a leading business school, and we wanted to increase our focus on these important values by creating a position that would centralize, coordinate, and expand our efforts,” said Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal.

Integrity and ethical behavior are important components of both the college’s and the University’s strategic plan. As the Director of Honor and Integrity, Eury will oversee policy implementation and execution, related training and orientation, and marketing and communication efforts surrounding the college’s honor and integrity initiatives.

“I am looking forward to working with our students, faculty and staff, and alumni and corporate partners to promote integrity and ethical leadership, both in the classroom and in the professional workplace.”

“As a member of the Smeal community, I fully embrace the important role of honor and integrity in shaping the Smeal culture, and I am excited to serve the college in this new capacity,” said Eury. “I am looking forward to working with our students, faculty and staff, and alumni and corporate partners to promote integrity and ethical leadership, both in the classroom and in the professional workplace.”

Existing college efforts in honor and integrity include courses that address issues of ethics and integrity as they pertain to the business world and the G. Albert Shoemaker Program in Business Ethics, which supports scholarly research in business ethics and the Shoemaker Lecture. In addition, all members of the Smeal community are invited each semester to sign the college’s honor code, which challenges students, faculty, and staff to live up to the highest ethical standards.

Eury, who was selected for the position after a national search, previously served as the college’s director of alumni relations, during which time she managed alumni engagement strategy for outreach and communication to the college’s more than 74,000 alumni. She is currently working toward completion of her doctoral degree in higher education with a minor in management and organization. She holds a master’s degree in higher education and a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising.

New Smeal College Administrative Unit to Focus on Instructional Design, Online and Hybrid Course Delivery 24 Sep

The Penn State Smeal College of Business has created a new administrative unit dedicated to instructional design. Led by Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal, the eLearning Design and Innovation Group (eLDIG) will be charged with assisting faculty with the design of new online courses as well as converting existing course content to an online format.
