Smeal Marketing Professor Arvind Rangaswamy to be Named DMEF Clarke Outstanding Educator
Arvind Rangaswamy, the Jonas H. Anchel Professor of Marketing at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, will receive the Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award from the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF).
Rangaswamy will receive his award at the 2013 Direct/Interactive Marketing Research Summit Awards Luncheon on October 13, in Chicago, Ill.
The award recognizes an academician’s overall achievement in direct/interactive marketing education and is based on an educator’s record of teaching, writing, research, and speaking.
Rangaswamy joined Penn State in 1993 after previously serving on the faculties of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Northwestern University’s J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
He serves as a member of the advisory board of the Institute for the Study of Business Markets at Penn State. He is also a fellow of the IC2 Institute and the chair of the e-Business Section of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
Rangaswamy’s current research is focused on developing concepts, methods, and models to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing using information technologies, covering topics such as marketing modeling, online customer behavior, online negotiations, and Internet business models. He currently teaches graduate courses in marketing engineering and eBusiness.
The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) works to educate, develop, grow, and employ college students in the field of marketing and was established in 1966 by members of the Direct Marketing Association.
