Alphonso Wilson has joined the Penn State Smeal College of Business as managing director of the Philadelphia-based Smeal Executive MBA Program.
Symposium in Hershey to Address the Business of Health Care
The Penn State Smeal College of Business and College of Medicine are hosting a half-day symposium next month in Hershey, Pa., with speakers and panel discussions addressing the business side of health care. "Where Health Care and Business Intersect: Improving Quality/Managing Costs" begins at 8 a.m. on October 5 at the Hershey Country Club. It concludes at noon.
Smeal Professor Named Co-Editor-in-Chief of Leading Journal
Daniel Guide, professor of operations and supply chain management and Binder Faculty Fellow at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has been named co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Operations Management. He will share editor-in-chief duties with Thomas Choi of Arizona State University.
GE Executive, Smeal Alum to Kick Off Executive Speaker Series
The Penn State Smeal College of Business will kick off its guest speaker series, Leadership in Focus: Executive Insights, on Oct. 14 with Smeal alumnus Jeff Malehorn, president and chief executive officer of GE Capital, Commercial Distribution Finance. Malehorn will join James B. Thomas, the John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal, for an interactive on-stage conversation at 11:15 a.m. in 110 Business Building (Struthers Auditorium). The talk is free and open to the public.

The Office of Career and Corporate Connections at the Penn State Smeal College of Business has deemed October to be Careers that Make a Difference Month and is working with local and national organizations to highlight career options with nonprofits and other ways to leverage one's career for the greater good.
