Smeal Launches New Risk Management Department, Major
The Penn State Smeal College of Business is offering a new major, the bachelor of science in Risk Management, which will be housed in the restructured Department of Risk Management and have three concentration options: Actuarial Science, Enterprise Risk Management, and Real Estate.
Smeal Professor Testifies Before Congress on Financial Stability
John Liechty, professor of marketing and statistics at the Penn State Smeal College of Business and director of the Center for the Study of Global Financial Stability, testified before the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, on July 14 regarding oversight of the newly created federal Office of Financial Research (OFR).
Huddart Named Accounting Department Chair
Steven Huddart has been named chair of the college's Department of Accounting and the Smeal Chair Professor in Accounting.
