One-Year Master of Accounting Students Connect with Spring Semester Internships
As the fall semester winds down, students in the Penn State Smeal College of Business One-Year Master of Accounting Program are preparing for their spring semester internships. The college provides a number of resources to help students connect with recruiters for these required internships, which provide valuable work experience and connections with a wide network of industry professionals.
Hambrick and Ketz to Consult on White-Collar Crime Study Funded by National Institute of Justice
Two Penn State Smeal College of Business faculty members, Donald Hambrick and J. Edward Ketz, will contribute to a College of the Liberal Arts study on white-collar crime. Hambrick, Smeal Chaired Professor of Management, and Ketz, associate professor of accounting, will serve as consultants on the project, which has been granted funding from the National Institute of Justice.
Fong Elected Fellow of International Society for Bayesian Analysis
Duncan Fong, the Calvin E. and Pamala T. Zimmerman Endowed Fellow and professor of marketing, has been elected a fellow of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA), a society dedicated to the development and application of Bayesian analysis.

More than 30 Smeal College of Business students from the Penn State undergraduate and MBA chapters of Net Impact, a national organization focused on sustainability in business, attended the organization’s annual conference held at the end of October in San Jose, Calif.
Smeal Research Center to Host Conference Examining Implications of U.S. Oil, Gas Self-Sufficiency
The Center for Global Business Studies (CGBS), part of the network of research centers at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, will host a one-day conference, “Global Implications of U.S. Self-Sufficiency in Oil and Gas,” on Friday, Dec. 6, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in 124 Business Building on Penn State’s University Park campus.
