Ambrose Elected President of National Real Estate Economics Organization
Brent W. Ambrose, Smeal Professor of Real Estate and director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been elected president of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA), the leading worldwide academic organization in real estate, mortgage finance, and urban economics. His one-year term began Jan. 1.

New Leadership Roles for Two Smeal Faculty Members
Penn States Smeal College of Business has appointed two faculty 'members to new leadership roles within the college, effective Jan. 1. Susan Xu, professor of management science and supply chain management, has been named director of the Smeal Ph.D. Program. Xu replaces Professor of Marketing William Ross, who served as Ph.D. director since 2007 and has been named chair of Smeal's Department of Marketing.
