Smeal Team Takes Second Place in Cornell Real Estate Competition
A team of Smeal College of Business undergraduate students finished in second place in the second annual Cornell Real Estate Case Competition, held Nov. 10-11 in New York.
Ghadar on CNBC's 'Street Signs'
Fariborz Ghadar, director of the Center for Global Business Studies, appeared on CNBC's "Street Signs" on Dec. 6 to discuss Iran's Kish Island and with host Erin Burnett. Ghadar was involved in the establishment of the Kish Island free trade zone in 1977 when he was president of the Export Promotion Center of the government of Iran.
Fund for Injured Doctoral Student Accepting Donations
A local church has organized a fundraising effort to help the family of Smeal College of Business doctoral student Hyun Jung (Joann) Lee with medical and other expenses related to her care and her family's travel from South Korea. The church has established a fund in Lee’s name and Smeal's Accounting Department is collecting donations on their behalf.
Smeal to Host Senior Sendoff Celebration Prior to Commencement
The Penn State Smeal College of Business will host a reception on Dec. 17 for the class of 2010 and their friends and family members. The Senior Sendoff celebration will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Business Building Atrium.
Smeal Names Two New Members to Its Board of Visitors
Two new members are joining the Penn State Smeal College of Business Board of Visitors. Joining the board are Mitchell Cohen, U.S. strategy leader and vice chairman of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Troy Cromwell, group president – Global Services at Verizon Business.

Smeal Professor's Research Wins Best Paper in I-O Psychology Field
A paper coauthored by Glen Kreiner, associate professor of management at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has won the 2011 Owens Scholarly Achievement Award, recognizing it as the best publication in the field of industrial and organizational psychology in 2009.
