On Sept. 1, one day before her 22nd birthday, Lauren Mitsch, a Penn State senior majoring in advertising and marketing, found out her summer internship at Nickelodeon had produced an unexpected reward—an all-expenses-paid trip to the annual MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday in New York City.
