Smeal to Host Business Ethics Discussion in New York City
Penn State's Smeal College of Business will host a panel discussion on business ethics on Oct. 27 in New York City for the college's 2009 Wall Street Initiative.
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (October 16, 2009) – Penn State's Smeal College of Business will host a panel discussion on business ethics on Oct. 27 in New York City for the college's 2009 Wall Street Initiative.
The program, "Leadership Perspectives on Ethics in Today's Complex World," will begin at 6:45 p.m. at The Princeton Club at 15 West 43rd Street. Doors open at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served during a networking reception, which will follow the panel discussion at 7:30 p.m.
Smeal Dean James B. Thomas will open the program with an update on the college's academic integrity efforts, including the revamped Smeal Honor Code and professional code of conduct.
Following the dean's remarks, Susan Amble Higgins, litigation associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, will moderate a discussion between the following panelists:
- Joan Amble, executive vice president and corporate comptroller, American Express Co.
- Jon Hirtle, president, Hirtle Callaghan & Co.
- Matthew Mintzer, head of U.S. Advisory Sales, Alliance Bernstein Defined Contribution Investments
- Krishna Nadella, associate director, Moody's Analytics
- Mark Schweiker, president, Business Process Solutions, PRWT Services, Inc.; former president and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce; and former governor of Pennsylvania
- Linda Treviño, Distinguished Professor of Organizational Behavior and Ethics, Smeal College of Business
Since 1999, the Wall Street Initiative has been connecting Penn State alumni who work on Wall Street with the goal of strengthening corporate relationships with the University, providing networking opportunities for alumni, and assisting students in pursuit of careers in New York’s financial district.
