Farrell Center Director Pens Book, Book Chapter

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (October 23, 2009) – Anthony Warren, director of the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship, has just had published the third edition of his textbook Patterns of Entrepreneurship Management, and has a book chapter about to published in three-volume set on business technology.

Patterns, coauthored by Jack M. Kaplan of Columbia Business School and published by Wiley, prepares entrepreneurs for the challenges and opportunities that await them as entrepreneurs. The third edition features a totally revised text as well as a new theme on how to effectively manage a startup. It includes sections on management, marketing, financial, and technological challenges in entrepreneurship, and includes examples for students to practice the broad range of skills required to start and build a company. The book is supported online with more than 90 videos.

In The Handbook of Technology Management, forthcoming from Wiley, Warren contributed a chapter on technology transfer. The book is due to be released in January 2010.

At Smeal, Warren also serves as Farrell Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship, teaching undergraduate and graduate students as well as leading a number of initiatives in entrepreneurship, including the Garber Venture Capital Fund and the annual IdeaPitch business plan competition.

Prior to joining Smeal, Warren spent much of his career with the international consulting firm PA Technology. During a period of more than 17 years, he grew international revenues for the United Kingdom-based firm to more than $50 million while also consulting with many of the world’s largest corporations on managing creativity and accelerating product development.
