UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (November 10, 2009) – The Executive MBA Program at Penn State's Smeal College of Business has been ranked among the top 50 such programs worldwide, according to rankings released in the current issue of BusinessWeek magazine. The Smeal program is one of only two Philadelphia-based EMBA programs to be included among the magazine's top 50.
BusinessWeek's biennial rankings of EMBA programs are based on surveys of recent graduates and information provided by the schools. The magazine numerically ranks the top 25 programs and groups together next 25 top programs, which is where Smeal's program is included.
This is the first year that Smeal's EMBA program has been eligible to participate in the BusinessWeek rankings.
Launched in 2001, the Smeal Executive MBA Program is a 21-month experience with classes held on alternating weekends at The ACE Conference Center in Philadelphia. EMBA graduates earn the same internationally ranked and recognized MBA degree provided on campus in University Park, Pa., and the program is led by the same top faculty from Penn State's University Park campus. The program features personalized executive coaching, intensive communication training, a weeklong international immersion experience, and coursework focused on the unique challenges of the students' firms.
