Pair Of Smeal Alumni Earn Accolades For Wealth Management
A Wealth Management Team at Merrill Lynch comprised of two graduates from Penn State's Smeal College of Business has recently been named to two top industry lists.
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (April 16, 2009) – A Wealth Management Team at Merrill Lynch comprised of two graduates from Penn State's Smeal College of Business has recently been named to two top industry lists.
Smeal alumni Charles Balducci and Eric Snyder, first vice presidents of the Snyder/Balducci Group, a New York-based Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Team, earned a top ten spot on On Wall Street's "Top 40 Advisers Under 40" list. The pair landed at No. 9 on the list, which ranks financial advisers under the age of 40 according to their assets under management.
The pair was also named on Registered Rep magazine's list of "America's Top 100 Wirehouse Advisers."
Balducci, who earned bachelor's degrees in Finance and Economics from Smeal, specializes in identifying financial solutions for high-net-worth individuals. With the industry-wide designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst, Balducci's responsibilities include initial meetings with new clients to get a comprehensive understanding of their personal challenges and desires. He creates unique strategies for their concentrated company stock and option positions, including lending, hedging, diversification, monetization, and tax deferral techniques. Outside of his firm responsibilities, he serves as vice president of the Turn the Corner Foundation. Balducci resides in Manhattan with his wife, Amy, and daughter, Sofia.
Snyder graduated from Smeal with degrees in Marketing and International Business. His responsibilities at the firm include providing investment advice for high-net-worth families, nonprofits, and institutional clients. He utilizes modern portfolio theory combined with third-party investment management firms to bring an institutional approach to managing client portfolios. He also holds the designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. Outside of the office, Snyder is vice president of the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation. He resides in Westfield, N.J., with his wife, Dianna, son, Kyle, and daughters, Devon and Reid.
