Smeal Student Named 'The Next CEO' At Annual Competition

Alex Herman, a Smeal College of Business junior majoring in finance, took first place this year in the college's chief-executive simulation challenge, The Next CEO. Ten Smeal undergraduates participated in the annual competition, formerly called Smeal Survivor, which had them pose as CEOs of multibillion-dollar global corporations to answer questions about how their companies would respond to complex business crises and major world events.

Senior Sendoff Celebrates Class Of 2007

The Smeal College of Business will host graduating seniors and their families on May 20 for the college's second annual Senior Sendoff celebration and pre-commencement brunch. Dean James Thomas and commencement speaker Martha Jordan '76, partner in the international law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP and chair of the Smeal Board of Visitors, will offer congratulatory remarks, and a student-produced video tribute to the Smeal class of 2007 will be shown.

Smeal Alumnus To Address Graduating MBA Students

Jeffrey A. Malehorn '82, president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare Financial Services, will deliver the keynote address at this year's Smeal MBA Pre-commencement Celebratory Ceremony on May 13 recognizing the MBA class of 2007. This year's ceremony, the 47th annual celebration, begins at 1 p.m. in the Atrium of Smeal's Business Building.
