Bestselling Author Addresses EMBA, MBA Students
More than 75 students enrolled in the Penn State Smeal College of Business Executive MBA Program in Philadelphia traveled to State College to have lunch with Keith Ferrazzi, bestselling author of Never Eat Alone and CEO of Ferrazzi Greenlight Inc. Ferrazzi addressed both EMBA and MBA students on Aug. 24 about the importance and value of networking for career success. Ferrazzi's visit kicked off the Smeal EMBA "on campus" immersion week, and was the headline event of the students' week-long visit to University Park. His appearance was part of the Smeal EMBA Executive Speaker Series, a quarterly event which allows professionals enrolled in the program to hear from today's top business leaders.
Dean Thomas Hosts Chicago-Area Alumni On Lake Michigan
Several friends and alumni of Penn State's Smeal College of Business joined Dean James Thomas in Chicago last week for a yacht excursion on Lake Michigan.
U.S. News Ranks Smeal Among Top Ten Public Business Programs
Penn State's Smeal College of Business is ranked 18th overall and 10th among public universities in this year's U.S. News & World Report rankings of undergraduate business programs, which was released today.
New Faculty Join Smeal
In July 2006, Dean James Thomas joined the Smeal College of Business. Thomas was dean of the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State since its inception in 1999. He is a specialist in strategic management, organizational decision-making, and information technology. Previously, Thomas served on Smeal's faculty for twelve years, culminating in appointments as senior associate dean and professor of management and organization. He is the author/co-author of more than 100 articles, book chapters, reviews and numerous presentations on information sciences education before scholarly, industry, and government groups including the U.S. Congress.
