West Chester Resident Will Be Student Marshal For Penn State Commencement

Robert Lee Womer, a 1997 graduate of West Chester East High School, is serving as student marshal for Penn State's Smeal College of Business Administration during the University's Summer Commencement ceremony. The event is schedule to begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 4, in the Bryce Jordan Center at the University Park campus.

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - Robert Lee Womer, a 1997 graduate of West Chester East High School, is serving as student marshal for Penn State's Smeal College of Business Administration during the University's Summer Commencement ceremony. The event is schedule to begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 4, in the Bryce Jordan Center at the University Park campus.

Each college at Penn State selects one student, based on academic achievement, to serve as marshal for graduation and accept a diploma on behalf of all graduates

Womer, a marketing major, is graduating with a 3.91 grade-point average. While at Penn State, Womer worked as sales manager and account executive at the award-winning campus newspaper, "The Daily Collegian." He completed several internships, including one as a financial analyst at Microsoft Corporation.

He was a member of the three-time National Collegiate Lacrosse League champion Penn State Men's Club Lacrosse Team. He is returning to Microsoft Corporation in September, where he will be employed as an analyst supporting Microsoft's Web Services Business Unit.

He is the son of Robert F. Womer of 1012 Flagg Lane in West Chester, PA.
