Smeal Student's Product Marketing Internship Provides 360 Degree View of Business
Sarah Gooch will begin her senior year at the Penn State Smeal College of Business as a Marketing major with a minor in Information Systems Management this fall, but she is spending her summer in Canton, Mass.—outside of Boston—as a product marketing intern with Ingersoll Rand’s Kryptonite brand.

The Department of Dermatology at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center was struggling to enroll participants in outpatient clinical trials and compete with more nimble competitors in the private sector. A team of MBAs from the Smeal College of Business helped to streamline the Penn State process and win a greater share of the important pharmaceutical company sponsored clinical trial business.

Penn State Smeal MBA Student Drills into Oil and Gas Industry with ExxonMobil Internship
Penn State Smeal MBA Program student Donald Roenigk is using his summer internship experience to shift gears from logistics officer in the United States Marine Corps to business professional in the oil and gas industry. He has spent the last two months conducting bidding analyses related to the drilling of exploratory wells on the Projects, Drilling, and Exploration team at ExxonMobil in Houston, Texas.

Alumnus Jared Satkoff, a 2008 marketing graduate, says his time at the Penn State Smeal College of Business prepared him to work hard and pursue his career in more ways than he expected. Only five years out of school, he has worked his way up to senior district manager at ADP, a payroll services company with an office in Philadelphia.
